My New Year's Eve Look

It's already 2013 in India (Happy New Year, all! *waves*), but there are still a few hours until the clock strikes twelve here in Wisconsin. Here's a quick peek at the makeup I decided on for the evening - nothing terribly fancy, just a much stronger lip and more sparkly eyes than usual! It's still quite understated for party makeup, but I spent some time doing my mom's so I wanted to do mine rather quickly.

I don't know why my camera pulls colors so pinkish, but this lip was much darker and plummier than it looks here. It's the Nars Velvet Matte lip pencil in Damned - I absolutely love those pencils and they're my go-to whenever I want statement lips.

I paired the lips with a slightly heavier than usual application of blush, and simple, glossy/shiny eyes - no liner, shading or the like, just a bright gold-tinged sheen + mascara. I think the lips and blush were more than enough, and I didn't want to go overboard on my eyes!

Products used were:

Face: Lioele Beyond the Solution BB cream with a bit of Revlon Colorstay Whipped in Sand Beige where I wanted a bit more coverage; a light dusting of Rimmel Stay Matte powder on my nose; Illamasqua blush in Hussy; and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Pearl

Eyes: Maybelline Colorstay Tattoo eyeshadow in Barely Beige (my mom found it on eBay and gifted it to me for Christmas!) applied all over the lid, and a light application of By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Beyond Gold around the upper lashline, smudged into the inner corner and up onto the lid, finished with Physician's Formula Organic Wear mascara

Lips: Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned
