My friend Azara has an awesome collection of OCC Lip Tars, a quite popular cult product. Highly pigmented and lightweight to wear, these are great for strong statement lips. They're also mixable, so you can custom-blend your own color of choice! From top left: Grandma, Pretty Boy, Stalker, Memento, Vintage, Tryptich, Black Dahlia, and Chlorophyll.
Here are the up-close swatches of each color, taken in natural daylight, no flash. All are pictured except for Vintage, which you can see in my previous post here!
Grandma: a pinky coral. This was my favorite of the whole batch!
Memento: A muted, slightly beige-y/orange-y pink. I didn't like this color in the tube but appreciated it a bit more after I wore it.
Pretty Boy: Bright technicolor pink
Triptych: Glimmery gold. Not super glittery, but definitely has a frost to it. It looked terrible on me, but I think other people could pull it off!
Stalker: Bright cool-toned red. Really liked this one as well.
Black Dahlia: It looks black in the tube, but it's actually a deep black-red color. Unfortunately it's tough to get the color even, as you can see from the picture above - it's a bit patchy. Still, gorgeous and very vampy.
Chlorophyll: It looks more green in the tube and in real life, but for me it was photographing very close to a teal-blue. I'd say it's more of a teal green. Again, not a color I'd ever wear, but fun to try on. Would be great for a costume!

Wow that like some serious lip tar pop art lol! I love all the colours! Admittedly I couldnt get away with wearing most of these colours myself but the pinks and peaches look really great on you! I think you can actually mix the colours up together to form new shades...oh how I wish I had that collection! I'd love to experiment with the teal in particular!

I think my favorites were Black Dhalia and Grandma and I could see them suiting a range of people - I could never see myself wearing the teal color under any normal circumstances!
DeleteThey look amazing! I'm partial to vampy colors so Black Dahlia is my favorite. Memento reminds me of a color I recently wanted but didn't buy, Booyah by MAC. Chlorophyll reminds me of 'mermaid blue', you're right it would look absolutely fabulous with the right costume. :)
ReplyDeleteYES. Black Dahlia is my favorite too! <3 vampy lips. :)
