The Perfect Red Lip

I'm at my friend Azara's place in Chicago right now, and she has an incredible, incredible collection of lipsticks and lip products. She's got a whole stash of the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, which I've swatched in full (post coming soon!) This was my favorite of the lot: Vintage, a deep, slightly blue-tinged red. The Lip Tars are super pigmented and opaque, which makes it possible to create a very sharp, strong lip. I used a lip brush to apply this one and exaggerated my lip shape quite a bit - they looked HUGE!

The wear time was fairly decent, and they more or less survived for several hours out in the snow and through a Japanese dinner. The only thing I didn't like was that the color feathered and migrated up off my lips after a few hours, even though I was using a primer. I think perhaps that was caused because I had gone outside of my lip line a bit, and if I had stayed within it that wouldn't have been a problem!

I don't think this one would steal my love away from the Nars Velvet Matte pencil in Dragon Girl for my HG red lip product, but it's definitely a great one! More swatches of other OCC colors (and more!) coming soon!
